In the current age, people are highly conscious about their physical appearance. The surge in the number of advertisements flashing on television screens, computers and newspapers endorsing beauty products draw our attention towards the rising interest of a significant number of people in buying these products to tone their appearance. While a little care of one’s appearance causes no harm, the problem arises when one starts to base his/her self-esteem solely on one’s physical appearance.



Young girls begin learning about the concept of beauty by observing people around them. When their mother applies makeup, and when other teenage girls they admire talk to your Daughter about Beauty trends, these young girls become curious. The curiosity to know who is beautiful and who is not arise in girls. They gather information about the same by overhearing other people talking about beauty which can be biased and prejudiced. Your daughters can learn the wrong definition of beauty. What do you do as a parent then? You talk about beauty with your daughter.



The personality and the kind of characteristics a person holds should weigh more than the appearance of the person. Beauty may attract the eyes, but inner beauty attracts the heart of the people. It is understandable that talking to a growing girl may become a little awkward about some topics but it is necessary that they get first-hand information which is correct instead of second-hand information that has been manipulated. #1. Ask Your Daughter What She Knows About Beauty
The first thing a parent should do is to know what the daughter already knows. The daughter must have some prior information about the topic. Before you inform her about concept of beauty , you should have some idea about what she knows so that you can clear her doubts. It is important that your daughter knows the right things and no false impressions stay in her mind about people.



#2. Beauty Is Not About Appearance Only
Once you are aware of what your daughter knows about beauty, you can decide how you are going to tell her about the same. Based on her understanding of the term, you can think of the right ways to tell her that beauty is not about appearance. What we see outside can be false, and it can fade away. It is vital that she knows what others have told her is not actually beauty. 

#3. A Superior Mind Is Beautiful
With the emergence of the beauty industry, the concept of beauty has become makeup and fairness. The beauty of the mind is always undermined. Nobody emphasizes on having a beautiful and a great mind. The ability to make correct decisions and having opinions on every issue has been long ignored and not given much importance. A girl has been looked over as an object of display, and that is why she needs to look her best to able to attract people towards her. 




#4. A Little Makeup Is Not Harmful
Your daughter will not understand this in a day. The concept of a beauty mind over appearance will not impact her right at the moment. She is young and will be under peer pressure, and therefore she will insist on wearing makeup. Do not stop her, instead, you should help her use the right makeup. You can allow her to wear slight nude makeup that does not make her look over the top.



#5. Wearing Confidence Instead Of Fake Fashion
When a girl reaches teenage, she faces a lot of changes in her life and her body. The teenage is the time when the kids at this age either build up confidence or their self-esteem falls. A lot of girls in her school would wear trendy clothes and apply makeup to be the popular one, and the others would follow her style to be the next best or at least be called beautiful.
